train stations

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) at Penn Station

32nd St. between 7th Ave and 8th Ave.

Pennsylvania Station(also know as Penn. Station)

32nd St, between 7th and 8th Aves.

At this station, you catch mostly trains. The Long Island Railroad(LIRR), The Transport of New Jersey trains, and trains I probably am unfamiliar with.

The place has been remodelled over the years and there is a whole underground fast food-eating mall there...I think also an entrance somewhere to K-mart.

I believe you can also get buses here that goes up to Canada...one way to Montreal. Not totally sure about this, so you'll have to check it out for yourself.

Metro North at Grand Central Station

Grand Central Station (GCS)

East 42nd St / 45th St and between Lexington & Park Aves

Here is where you catch Metro North Trains to Upstate NY or to Connecticut. You may want to go here just as a tourist and check out the ceiling of GCS. Plus many chic gift stores now reside along the way within this structure.

On a very cold day, I like cutting through here. I go in at 42nd st., go across, up the esccalator, through another building and end up on 45th st. I can usually cross thru the Hemsley Building too, and end up on E. 46th st.

New Jersey Transit Trains at Penn Station

32nd St. between 7th Ave and 8th Ave.

Here you can take trains to the Jersey Shore (South
Jersey).

N. J. PathTrains

Christopher St. between Hudson St and Washington St.
9th St, and 6th Ave/Avenue of the Americas.
14th St. and 6th Ave/Avenue of the Americas.
