Pennsylvania Station

(also know as Penn. Station)

32nd St, between 7th and 8th Aves.

At Penn Station, you catch mostly trains. The Long Island Railroad (LIRR), New Jersey Transit (TNJ) trains and Amtrak. LIRR Accessibility info is on the MTA webste New Jersey Transit Accessibility Accessible Rail Penn Station has a whole underground of stores and fast food-eateries. Clothing shops, souveniers, etc. Some buses may stop outside/near Penn Station that go to Philly, PA or other places, like Mega Bus or Bolt Bus. I believe these buses have free WIFI.

Metro North at Grand Central Station

Grand Central Station (GCS)

East 42nd St through 45th St and between Lexington & Park Aves 

Take Metro North Trains to Upstate NY or to Connecticut and back. You may want to go here just as a tourist and check out the ceilings and light fixtures of GCS, plus many chic food and gift stores. MetroNorth Accessibility info is on the MTA website NYCAirporter service shuttles you to your Manhattan hotel between 23rd St and 63rd which is free service from GSC only. The NYCAirporter shuttles to/from JFK, Newark & LaGuardia Airports (for a fraction of what a cab will cost you). These shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible with a ramp that opens from the front entrance. Free WIFI. NYCAirporter ========================================== On very cold days, I like cutting through GCS. I go in at 42nd st., across and up the escalator, through another building to get to East 45th st. :-)

You can catch the path trains at these locations in NYC: Christopher St. between Hudson St & Washington St. 9th St, and 6th Ave/Avenue of the Americas. 14th St. and 6th Ave/Avenue of the Americas. 23rd St 6th Ave/Avenue of the Americas. 33rd St. and Herald Square Path Train Accessibility infomation
