I've ridden in a few limousines in my day and generally they are comfortable and roomy and the limo drivers are professional and have been excellent drivers. With a limo, they are being paid by the hour and do not have to hustle fares. So there's no illegal u-turns, speeding, or cutting off other drivers to save time to get more fares. If you speak to the driver, if the conversation turns to that personal mode, you can have the driver drop you near your home, (like a 24 hr. grocery store), but not at your door. Once a driver followed me after he dropped me off. I told him to drop me off in the middle of the block. I did not ask him to wait until I got inside. He stopped on the corner (1/2 block away) and just sat in his car and watched me. I had to fake where I was going, went into a doorway where I don't live, just so he'd drive away. So like with the cabbies, if you think the driver is getting too nosey about you, be careful what you reveal. That's all. |
